Spa-Francorchamps & Escapade: Redefining Trackside Hospitality at the Legendary F1 Circuit

Legendary motorsport venue Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps has announced a bold, transformative chapter in its nearly 105-year history, one that goes far beyond racing.

At the heart of this evolution is a landmark €30 million private investment that marks the largest development in the Circuit’s history, redefining what a world-class racing destination can offer.

Transforming the Circuit Experience

For decades, Spa-Francorchamps has been revered as one of the world’s most iconic racetracks, hosting the Belgian Grand Prix and a packed calendar of international motorsport events. But its ambitions have always extended beyond the traditional racing weekends: the Circuit’s 2024–2028 strategic plan emphasizes diversification, economic resilience, and strengthening its position as a year-round global destination.

Today, that strategy takes a tangible form with the announcement of Escapade Spa-Francorchamps: a premium trackside hospitality project developed in partnership with Escapade, a UK hospitality brand known for immersive, design-led accommodation at the world’s great motorsport venues.

A Destination Reimagined

Opening in 2028, Escapade Spa-Francorchamps will introduce:

  • A 68-room contemporary design hotel situated directly beside the legendary Eau Rouge corner.
  • Six exclusive residences offering an additional 23 rooms overlooking the start-finish straight at La Source.
  • High-end dining, wellness facilities, concierge services, and adaptable event spaces designed to serve guests, teams, partners, and business clients year-round.

This rare integration of hospitality directly within the circuit complex places guests within meters of some of motorsport’s most storied turns, offering an unparalleled experience.

The architectural concept, developed in collaboration with Gensler, thoughtfully merges contemporary design with Spa’s natural Ardennes environment and heritage structures. Materials like local stone and timber echo the surrounding landscape and track flow, anchoring the project in place and purpose.

More Than a Hotel: A Catalyst for Growth

Unlike any development the Circuit has seen before, this project is a first-of-its-kind private investment directly within Spa-Francorchamps. It aligns fully with the Circuit’s strategic goals to diversify revenue streams, elevate the visitor experience, and maximize utilization 365 days a year — from test sessions, corporate gatherings, wellness retreats, and off-season activities to flagship race events.

Circuit CEO Amaury Bertholomé emphasizes the broader ambition:

“This premium trackside hospitality addresses a demand that could not previously be met at Spa-Francorchamps. It fully aligns with our 2024–2028 strategy — developing an international destination that is active throughout the year, while also enhancing the overall experience for Circuit visitors.”

A Regional Economic Engine

Beyond hospitality, Escapade Spa-Francorchamps is expected to deliver a lasting economic and cultural boost to the Wallonia region, creating permanent jobs, driving demand for local suppliers and services, and strengthening tourism beyond the racing calendar.

Much like major international investments that reposition regions on the global stage, Spa-Francorchamps’ transformation signals a reimagined future for motorsport and destination hospitality, blending tradition with innovation, sport with experience, and local impact with global draw.
